The Unique Space Devised Through Skylight, designed by Sheng-Hao Sun, is a residential house that showcases the power of skylights in transforming spatial experiences. With a focus on creating a connection between different floors, this design offers a unique and visually stunning living environment.

One of the standout features of this design is the artificial skylight and the sculpture-like staircase. This combination not only adds a visual focal point to the space but also creates a sense of depth and dimension. The play of light and shadow, as well as the vertical lines created by the staircase, contribute to a dynamic and engaging atmosphere.

The design also breaks the boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces. The floors and ceilings stretch from the master bedroom to the balcony and the study corner, blurring the line between the interior and the exterior. This not only magnifies the space but also allows for multi-angle views of different layers, creating a sense of openness and connection with the surrounding environment.

The materials used in this design include oak, black tile, marble, and black iron. These materials not only add a touch of elegance and sophistication but also contribute to the overall aesthetic appeal of the space.

Sheng-Hao Sun's Unique Space Devised Through Skylight offers a new spatial awareness by deconstructing the relationship between inside and outside. It invites residents and visitors to explore the impacts of vertical lines and chiaroscuro in the space, creating a truly immersive and captivating experience.

This design project was realized in Taipei, Taiwan, from February 2016 to June 2016. It has received recognition for its outstanding creativity and ingenuity, winning the Bronze A' Design Award in 2017 in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This award acknowledges the design's incorporation of best practices in art, science, design, and technology, contributing to quality of life improvements and making the world a better place.
